When I visited the last show in Indianapolis, where I met Tina, owner of Lost Island Chihuahuas and had a BLAST! (I really can't wait to join the show world!) Everyone I met was wonderful and I just love you guys! ... well, I saw a set of stacking blocks. They were very nice! Fancy stained wood, little rubber on top and bottom to make them non-slip. Something I could totally use! Then I turned them over, $45!!! Holy Cow! Not something in my budget for what I was getting. So I started thinking... hey I could make those! Not only can I make them, but I can customize them. The more I thought about it, the more options I came up with. So starting in the next few days, you will find a tab on this website for our Online Store, where you can order fully... 100% customizable stacking blocks! But it doesn't stop there. Soon we will be producing customizable stacking tables (the kind you fit down over a crate), Belly Bands, Crate Covers, and more! We will be credit card ready, you fill out a form outlining the details of your order, and depending on the level of customization involved, either pay then or wait to hear back from me the details of your order, and then voila! I ship within 3 days of receiving payment for your order, however orders requiring extreme customization might take a bit longer, but you'll be informed of that up front. Here's a few examples of the first sets I started out with...

Well folks I've finally done it! I am so excited to start getting really serious with my breeding. After a lot of research (I thought) I decided to start breeding these dogs in earnest. As I went along I started meeting the most amazing and wonderful people who love the breed as much as I do, and miraculously were willing to do whatever they could to help me get started. Laurie Dodge, Tina Horth, and Tina Ortiz, thank you so much for giving me a chance when I could have been another backyard breeder. I started to learn from these amazing people just how little I really did know, and I started my research all over again. I have learned so much these last months! Mainly about my responsibility to the breed, the future owners of the dogs I produce, and my conscience. Thank you all so much for all the help you have given me in my quest to breed healthy and sound little guys :) To everyone I have not yet met, I'm excited to make so many new friends soon! I will be starting my show lines with Laud Mister Mojito from Laud Dogs in Manitoba, Canada. You can see him and the quality lines he comes from at www.laud-dogs.com. I am as excited as it gets over bringing him here!
I just wanted to say as I go along and learn and become a crusader for the healthy chihuahua, I am going to have all my dogs certified with CHIC for patellas and heart murmurs, and CERF for eye abnormalities. Though I will talk the talk about how important it is, this is my decision. Breeder friends, I am not trying to condemn you in any way, I might hope that you too will decide to test so you can guarantee your dogs are free of any genetic disorders passed on from generation to generation, but I am not at all trying to slight your decisions. These tests are much cheaper than you would think! CHIC testing for heart and patellas can be done at the vet's office, usually for the price of an office visit and then its $15 to register the results! You could get it done the next time they're in for something else, it only takes a minute! Just visit the CHIC website www.caninehealthinfo.org, print of the forms for patellas and heart murmur, take them with you to the vet, he does the check, fills out the form, you mail it in, presto! Just think of the asset to your dogs to be certain they are free of these common chihuahua ailments and the asset to your business when you can assure your clients their new puppy is free of genetic disorders! The CERF eye testing is a bit more difficult as you need a certified doggie ophthalmologist to perform the test. However, if you go to, THIS website, you can find a list of clinics in your area to get the testing done. That said :) Best wishes always and God Bless, ~Andrea - True Shot Chihuahuas |
